30 years ago the fall of the Berlin Wall marked the end of the Cold War.

NIE, in partnership with the Norris Museum, spent six months working on a research project with local young people, delving into the history of the Cambridgeshire’s military bases and the impact the Cold War has had on modern surveillance.

The collected local Cold War stories and work with Ramsey Youth Group helped to form an exhibition and performance which toured around Cambridgeshire libraries in Autumn 2019 as part of the Libraries Presents Season. The research, film and artwork will be archived at The Norris Museum in St Ives.

Below is a collection of photos, videos and accounts that give a glimpse into the project and archive.
